Evaluate depression with an assessment tool
Evaluate Adverse Childhood Experience ACEs and unpack past
Psychoeducation about depression, its symptoms, and its impact on life.
Identify negative thought patterns, and develop healthier thinking styles and coping mechanisms. Promote acceptance of negative emotions rather than avoidance.
Understanding of daily functioning and active participation in life events, commitment to personal values and goals.
Implement behavioral activation to increase engagement in pleasurable activities.
Focus on improving interpersonal relationships and communication skills.
Address role transitions, conflicts, and grief that may contribute to depressive symptoms.
Learn mindfulness practices to increase present-moment awareness.
Develop skills to manage stress and prevent relapse.
Monitor for efficacy and side effects of medication.
Lifestyle Modifications with regular physical exercise, healthy diet, and practice of sleep hygiene
Develop a relapse prevention plan with coping strategies and warning signs.
Encourage ongoing participation in supportive activities and regular check-ins, even after symptoms improve
